CHS Featuring the following Choirs


Choralaires (11th & 12th auditions only)

  • This course is open to students who are musically talented in singing and desire to be challenged. Membership is through audition or permission of the instructor only. Members must have the freedom to make performances outside the school day. Emphasis will be on learning vocal technique, varied choral literature and performance. Students will also participate in the MSVMA Choir Festival. In addition, students will work on the fundamentals of music reading, sight singing, ear training, and intermediate to advanced level music theory. Choralaire students are required to be enrolled all three trimesters.


Treble Choir (Grades 9-12)

  • This is a choir intended for 9th-12th grade women who are interested learning vocal technique and singing in a non-auditioned ensemble. A variety of music will be sung along with participating in the MSVMA Choral Festival. This is a three-trimester course and permission is needed from the instructor to enroll for less time. In addition, students will learn basic music theory and work to develop their sight singing abilities

 

 

Women's Ensemble (Grades 10-12)

  • Women's Choir is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors through audition or permission of the instructor only. Emphasis will be on vocal technique, singing a variety of music literature along with concert performance and participation in the MSVMA Choir Festival. In addition, students will work on the fundamentals of music reading, sight singing, ear training, and intermediate to advanced level music theory. Women’s Choir students are required to be enrolled all three trimesters.

Men's Ensemble (Grades 9-12)

  • This course is open men in all grade levels with emphasis on learning vocal technique through varied music literature. Students will participate in four regularly scheduled concerts, MSVMA Choral Festival, and various other festivals and performance opportunities. This is a three-trimester course and permission is needed from the instructor to enroll for less time. In addition, students will work on the fundamentals of music reading, sight singing and ear training. Non-auditioned.
