Project Save Our Children

Project Save Our Children spent two days at CHS this week working with 9th grade students who have "Health" classes. These students were able to expierence hands on tools to learn about how drinking alcohol affects our ability to use good judgement, coordination and drive
while under the influence.

Students used drive simulators while wearing goggles that distort your vision and balance (simulating how you might be if you were drunk). They also used the goggles to try to walk in a straight line, play catch with a small ball etc. and drive a "golf"cart car while wearing the goggles to simulate real driving and how it affects you're accuracy. In addition, Project Save Our Children facilitators had displays and presented some facts to students about drinking and how it affects our bodies.

It was a great experience for many of our freshman students and SHOCK members. Thanks to the Project Save Our Children staff for spending time with us this week.
